Testing for another year is done. Your students worked hard and the word I got from them was, “It was easy.” (That always makes me nervous. ;)) I am sure they did great, and I am really proud of how hard they worked on it.
Now this is the part your student does not want to hear. We still have 20+ days of school left. We will be working on two research projects and their IB exhibitions.
Project 1: They are to research an event between 1950 and 2017 and write a paper on it. I have given them the guidelines and a rubric.
Project 2: We will be conducting an egg drop. They will need to design a container that will protect an egg from a drop from the top floor of the stairwell. I will give instructions out on Monday.
IB: They have been working in groups and will be working with mentors the next several weeks.
There are a lot of exciting activities coming up the next few weeks. I will update the calendar with all that I know up to this point. Check the calendar for details.
Remind your student that even though testing is over and the weather has turned for the better, there is still a lot of work to get done and the rules still apply. They have been reminded by Mr. McBride that a number of the activities coming up are privileges, not requirements, and privileges are earned and can be taken away.
You can be proud of the effort your student put forth on the Milestones and I appreciate having had the opportunity to work with your child this year.
Thanks for all you help,
Paul La Motteto edit.
